Crypto derivatives exchange ErisX announced in a press release the appointment of Vidhu Singh, as its Chief Risk Officer for the C-Suite team.

Singh, a capital market risk management expert, was formerly the Business Operation Manager at Hudson River which acquired Sun Trading. He had served as the Chief Risk Officer and Director of Analytics for Sun Trading where he built a risk management team composed of professionals who monitored risk related to low latency algorithmic trading in futures markets and global equity. Prior to that, he served at Start Investments and USB Investment Bank.

“We welcome Vidhu to the team and look forward to leveraging his background to assist us in the evolution of our markets and products,” said Thomas Chippas, CEO of ErisX. “Our team comes from traditional as well as digital financial backgrounds and the skill set they bring to the table will enable a robust group of market participants to enjoy an enhanced trading and investing experience in the digital asset space.”

Singh will be reporting to Liz James, the head of Eris Clearing. He will be responsible for driving all the credit aspects, market and liquidity risk management of the firm as well as integrating its risk management priorities to Clearinghouse’s strategic plan and road map. He is also expected to assist in establishing quantitative metrics for risk mitigation and the ongoing development and enforcement of the Eris Clearing’s policy and reporting framework.

Commenting on his new role, Singh expressed his excitement over joining the team and assisting them in the next chapter of growth while managing the unique risks associated with a regulated digital asset platform.

“ErisX is evolving to enhance the way individuals and institutions gain exposure to digital assets with their innovative platform for spot and regulated futures,” said Singh. “I followed the productive year they had in 2019 with the launch of their digital asset markets, completion of their technology stack and the ability to secure a derivatives clearing organization (DCO) license.”

Meanwhile, ErisX has partnered with software firm Etale, allowing its members to view real-market data, and manage their account balances or execute orders using Etale’s front end or API in a secure manner.
