> SK hynix’s U.S. storage subsidiary is considering a listing as early as 2027. The plan comes amid broader activity in AI infrastructure and enterprise technology.

Solidigm, SK hynix’s U.S. NAND and enterprise solid-state drive subsidiary, is considering an initial public offering as early as 2027 that could value the company at up to $150 billion and raise about $15 billion.

The plan remains preliminary, and no specific offering has been confirmed. Solidigm supplies enterprise SSDs for servers, cloud infrastructure and data centers, with a focus on high-capacity storage for artificial-intelligence workloads.

SK hynix acquired Intel’s NAND and SSD business for about $9 billion in 2020 and later integrated it into Solidigm. A $150 billion valuation would be about 16.7 times the acquisition price.

The IPO plan was among several developments involving AI infrastructure and enterprise technology.

Island, an enterprise security company that began with a corporate browser, completed a $400 million Series F funding round on Sept. 24 at a $6.4 billion valuation. Its business now covers identity, access permissions, data boundaries, cost controls and behavior auditing for AI agents. The funding will support security and governance capabilities for large-scale enterprise AI-agent deployments.

Eaton agreed to acquire Italy’s COL Group for €810 million, or about $923 million, in enterprise value. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027. COL makes medium-voltage distribution equipment, grid-automation systems and modular power systems.

The acquisition is expected to expand Eaton’s European distribution capabilities and manufacturing capacity for data-center and utility customers. COL is projected to generate about €250 million in 2027 sales, putting the enterprise value at roughly 3.2 times projected 2027 sales.

Google is pursuing Project Suncatcher, a long-term effort to test Tensor Processing Units in space. The project includes plans for two prototype satellites to evaluate machine-learning infrastructure in low Earth orbit, where solar availability could reach as much as eight times the level on Earth.

Radiation, heat management and high-speed communication between satellites remain engineering issues. The planned tests will determine whether Google advances toward a larger multi-satellite computing system.
