Aave founder and CEO Stani said Aave could eventually expand its potential collateral base beyond crypto assets and securities to include energy, computing hardware, robotics and space infrastructure.

The possible categories include solar energy, batteries, graphics processing units and robots, along with assets tied to space infrastructure. Aave began with crypto assets and later expanded its potential collateral base to securities, including tokenized stocks and other real-world assets.

The strategy is based on the idea of addressable collateral: the larger the pool of assets eligible to back loans, the greater the potential lending market.

Stani described the transition as extending through 2050. Aave’s broader goal is to finance assets associated with an era of abundance and accelerate that process by about 10 years.
