Spark has allocated $210 million to institutional loans backed by Bitcoin (BTC), allowing institutions to borrow USDC while pledged assets remain with a qualified custodian.

Borrowers can use BTC as collateral and receive USDC, while the underlying Bitcoin remains in custody rather than moving directly to the lending protocol. Spark provides the loan capital for the program.

Anchorage Digital, a digital asset custodian, will hold the collateral and manage it through Atlas. The automated network provides continuous margin monitoring, settlement and tri-party services within a regulated custody framework.

The arrangement combines lending infrastructure with institutional custody and collateral controls. It also gives institutions a way to borrow against BTC while maintaining custody through a qualified provider.
