> Velodrome and Aerodrome will merge into Aero, with OP Mainnet and Ink retaining VELO issuance and voting before launch.

Velodrome and Aerodrome will merge and upgrade into Aero on Oct. 21, with xVELO holders facing an Oct. 15 deadline to bridge their tokens back to OP Mainnet.

OP Mainnet and Ink are set as Aero’s initial networks. Both will continue VELO issuance and voting before the launch, while other networks will gradually stop token issuance and cross-chain support.

Celo, Fraxtal, Soneium and Unichain are planned to retain trading and liquidity-provision functions after Aero launches. They will no longer support Gauges, voting or token issuance.

Gauges have been closed or are scheduled to close on Celo, Fraxtal, Soneium, Unichain, Superseed, Metal, Mode, Swell and Lisk. Superseed, Metal and Mode will no longer be actively maintained, while Swell has been shut down.

Liquidity providers on networks outside OP Mainnet and Ink should unstake their LP positions after Gauges are disabled. Lisk assets must be withdrawn by Oct. 31 and cannot be recovered afterward.

The move is part of the planned merger of Velodrome and Aerodrome into Aero. The next key deadlines are Oct. 15 for bridging xVELO to OP Mainnet and Oct. 31 for withdrawing Lisk assets.
