> The Tether-backed Peruvian fintech used Tether USDt and USD Coin for settlement while customs, trade documents and tax obligations remained unchanged.

Linka, a Peruvian fintech backed by Tether, said it completed Peru’s first import transaction with complete trade documentation and an international payment made through stablecoins, while customs declarations and tax obligations remained unchanged.

The transaction used Tether USDt (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) as the cross-border value-transfer infrastructure. Linka verified the customer’s identity and commercial invoice before converting between fiat currency and stablecoins and completing the international settlement.

Customs declarations, trade documents and tax obligations remained unchanged during the transaction. The company described the import as the first in Peru with complete trade documentation and an international payment completed through stablecoins.
