> The proposed all-or-nothing options would track earnings-related metrics for 23 companies, pending regulatory approval.

Cboe Global Markets plans to launch contracts tied to company-specific performance metrics in October, giving Robinhood customers a new way to trade earnings-related outcomes pending regulatory approval.

Robinhood will be the first retail broker to offer the proposed products, which would let customers take positions on whether a company metric reaches a specified level instead of trading directly on its share price.

The contracts would be all-or-nothing options with a $1 exercise settlement amount, unless adjusted under exchange rules. They would be European-style, cash-settled contracts that may expire on the date an issuer reports the relevant earnings results.

Cboe initially plans to list contracts tied to 23 U.S.-listed companies, including Apple, Amazon, Coinbase, Marathon Digital, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Robinhood, Tesla and Walt Disney. The proposed group also includes Advanced Micro Devices, Alphabet, Bank of America, Citigroup, Ford, Intel, JPMorgan Chase, Meta Platforms, Netflix, Palantir, SoFi, SpaceX, Super Micro Computer and Target.

The contracts would reference financial or operating metrics disclosed in earnings-related Securities and Exchange Commission filings. Examples include earnings per share, revenue, customer counts and Bitcoin production.

Regular trading hours would run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET (1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. UTC). Cboe said it will not charge fees through the end of 2026, and Robinhood plans to offer the contracts without fees through year-end, subject to regulatory review.

“These KPI contracts are designed to provide exposure to key corporate metrics,” said JJ Kinahan, Cboe’s head of retail expansion and alternative investment products.

Robinhood Chief Brokerage Officer Steve Quirk said, “Earnings contracts give retail investors another tool to inform their strategies.”

Robinhood Markets’ HOOD shares opened at $122.61 on Sept. 30, reached $123.49, fell to $111.95 and closed at $112.50. Trading volume totaled 35,042,119 shares, leaving the stock down 3.20% from the previous session.

The proposed October launch remains subject to regulatory approval.
