> The Series A brings the San Francisco company’s total funding to $38.5 million as it focuses on financial services.

Halluminate raised $30 million in a Series A led by Oak HC/FT, adding to investment in tools that train and evaluate AI agents for knowledge-work tasks, with financial services as the company’s first focus.

The San Francisco startup’s total funding now stands at $38.5 million. Y Combinator, Orange Collective, FT Partners and Heavybit also participated in the round, announced Oct. 1.

Halluminate builds benchmarks and simulated environments for training and evaluating AI agents. The company has built reinforcement-learning environments with four of the five leading closed-source U.S. AI labs.

Halluminate’s Westworld Finance Diligence Bench, announced in August, contains 88 problems based on anonymized information from real private transactions. It evaluates how agents handle steps in due diligence for a company acquisition. Finance deal professionals wrote and reviewed the problems.

The company has reached a mid-eight-figure revenue run rate and remains profitable.
