Fusion Source Energy (FSE) and real-world asset platform Loaf have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore onchain issuance of Australian solar and battery projects valued at more than $500 million, with Project Amber leading the effort.

The projects cover more than 1,000 hectares. Project Amber is a utility-scale development that combines more than 200 MW of solar generation with multi-hour battery storage. Funds raised are expected to accelerate development and expand the project’s battery capacity.

Amber’s projected annual electricity output could serve more than 70,000 homes or equal the electricity demand of a 50 MW data center. The broader pipeline includes battery storage assets below 5 MW and distributed energy resources at sites across Australia. These modular assets are closer to power consumers and could support multiple energy revenue sources.

FSE CEO Weiwei Shi described Amber as one of the larger co-located hybrid projects in the Southern Hemisphere. Shi said projects of this kind have generally been available to a limited group of institutional investors, and that Loaf could broaden access without extra friction while providing ongoing, transparent pricing.

Loaf said Project Amber will become a key asset in its ecosystem. As projects mature and begin trading, users will be able to take long or short positions and use the assets in onchain financial applications.
