> Its one-year example for a $5 million bond produces a $20,000 formula fee, but the minimum raises the charge to 2% before coupon payments and other financing costs.

Bitfinex Securities’ $100,000 minimum fee makes its example of a $5 million, one-year bond carry an upfront charge equal to 2% of the amount raised, before coupon payments and other financing costs.

The platform’s schedule calculates a $20,000 fee for that example using a rate of 0.4% per year, but the minimum applies. The capital-raise fee includes document review, optional tokenization, marketing materials and secondary-market listing. Issuers pay no additional listing fee or withdrawal fee on proceeds, and the charge is separate from the bond’s coupon.

The fee shows one cost of raising money through the platform. The available figures do not establish whether tokenized financing costs less overall than a comparable conventional financing for the same issuer, instrument, maturity and amount.

Bitfinex Chief Technology Officer Paolo Ardoino has described cutting companies’ costs to navigate regulation, list and raise debt or equity as an industry goal. “If in five years we cannot cut the cost for companies to go through the regulatory process, list and raise capital by 80 percent, we didn’t do a good job. Not as Bitfinex, but as an industry,” Ardoino said.

ALTERNATIVE, a Luxembourg securitization fund managed by MK Global Kapital Sàrl, has issued four tokenized bonds worth $6.2 million-equivalent through its Bitfinex Securities program. Three bonds totaling $1 million-equivalent had matured and been repaid, and the program had made 20 coupon payments exceeding $1.1 million-equivalent.

Those totals document issuance, repayments and payments, but do not disclose the interest rates, fees or other financing terms paid by the businesses funded through the program. ALTERNATIVE’s broader tokenization program exceeded $10 million in issuance since 2023; that figure covers a different scope and is not reconciled with its Bitfinex program totals.

One bond, ALT2612, has a 10% coupon paid quarterly over a 36-month term. Its first coupon payment exceeded $130,000 in USDt to investor wallets on Bitfinex Securities. Those bond terms do not establish the financing costs paid by the underlying businesses.
