> The New York startup raised the money in a $20 million Series A and a $5 million seed round. It says annualized revenue topped $1 million within two months of coming out of stealth in July.

Melius has raised $25 million for its AI advertising platform as the New York startup shifts from managing ad spending to generating campaigns and creative assets.

The funding comprises a $20 million Series A led by CRV and a $5 million seed round led by General Catalyst. Melius uses artificial intelligence to make ad campaigns, images and videos.

Co-founders Joowon Kim, Young Kim and Arnav Ramu met while working as engineers at Ramp. Their first product was designed to help marketers manage and optimize ad spending. More than six months into building it, they decided the idea did not “have legs” and moved toward tools for generating creative assets and campaigns.

Nearly a year after the company’s initial launch, Melius revealed its new platform, which it describes as an “agents lab for creative work.” The company came out of stealth in July.

Melius says it passed $1 million in annualized revenue within two months of coming out of stealth. Its competitors include Higgsfield, Krea and Flora AI.
