> The Samsung Wallet feature is scheduled for the final week of October and will support transfers to compatible wallets and eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries.

Samsung will add cross-border USDC transfers to its U.S. Galaxy phones in the final week of October, bringing stablecoin payments to a potential 82 million devices through Samsung Wallet.

The feature will let eligible users convert fiat currency into USDC, send it to compatible external wallets and convert it back to fiat without leaving Samsung Wallet. Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay will provide access to the service.

Transfers will run on Solana and Sui infrastructure. Coinbase Prime will custody USDC held in Samsung Wallet, while Bastion will provide stablecoin custody services. Samsung will not charge a transfer fee, although the recipient’s wallet or exchange may impose one and transaction speed will depend on network conditions.

Users will also be able to send USDC to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries, with recipients receiving local currency. Fees for bank transfers will vary by destination.

Samsung digital wallet executive vice president Woncheol Chai said the goal is to make remittances as convenient as using an existing mobile wallet. The company plans to expand the service to additional markets based on local regulatory requirements.
