> The new platform brings Backstage, Confidence, Portal and Xirp together as Spotify seeks to expand tools built for its 777 million monthly active users.

Spotify launched a new website for selling developer and enterprise software to outside businesses on Oct. 8, bringing products created for its own technology operations into a more formal commercial offering.

The site, technology.spotify.com, features Backstage, an open-source platform for customizable developer portals, alongside paid products Confidence, Portal and Xirp. Spotify released Backstage to the wider technology community in 2020, began selling Confidence in 2023 and added Portal to its commercial lineup in 2024.

Xirp, a tool for managing artificial-intelligence coding agents, joined the company’s commercial products earlier this year. The collection is designed for software teams handling development work alongside AI-based coding systems.

The tools were built for a company serving 777 million monthly active users. Spotify SVP of Technology & Platform Tyson Singer said hundreds of cross-functional squads build products and code behind Spotify’s consumer app, describing the streaming company as a broader technology operation.

Spotify has not disclosed how much revenue its enterprise software generates in its financial reporting. The new site does not list prices, directing businesses to submit a form to contact Spotify’s sales team.
