> The redesigned certification launches Nov. 19, 2026, with four online courses and private-sector pricing of up to $2,095.

ACAMS is expanding its crypto financial-crime training with Chainalysis content as cryptocurrency scams and fraud caused an estimated $17 billion in losses globally during 2025.

The redesigned Certified Cryptoasset Anti-Financial Crime Specialist certification is scheduled to launch Nov. 19, 2026. Its courses, study materials and exam are expected to become available on the same date.

The program will include four online courses: Cryptoassets and Blockchain; Financial Crime Risks and Regulatory Frameworks for Cryptoassets; AFC Compliance Programs for Cryptoassets; and Crypto AFC Case Studies.

The certification is designed for professionals working in compliance, investigations, sanctions, risk management and related fields. The curriculum covers the identification, assessment, management and investigation of cryptoasset financial-crime risks.

The private-sector package is priced at $1,895 through Nov. 18, 2026, and $2,095 afterward. The public-sector package costs $1,395 through Nov. 18 and $1,595 afterward.

The $17 billion figure is an estimate rather than a final loss total. It follows an earlier on-chain figure of at least $14 billion received by scams during 2025, with the total potentially rising above $17 billion as additional illicit addresses are attributed.

Average scam payments increased to $2,764 in 2025 from $782 in 2024, a 253% year-over-year increase. At least $154 billion flowed to known illicit crypto addresses in 2025, with the amount representing a minimum based on addresses identified at the time. The CCAS program includes Chainalysis material but does not provide training or demonstrations for Chainalysis products such as Reactor. The four-course certification is scheduled to become available Nov. 19, 2026.
