> The fintech added 1 million Italian customers from an earlier 2026 milestone and is prioritizing credit cards and mortgages in the market.

Revolut’s Italian customer base exceeded 6 million on Oct. 9, marking an increase of 1 million from an earlier 2026 milestone as the fintech expands its banking services in the country.

Revolut Business serves more than 62,000 Italian companies, up 36% from a year earlier. Italian customers held more than €1.2 billion in savings with Revolut, nearly four times the year-earlier level.

The number of customers receiving salaries directly through Revolut more than doubled over the same period. Customers younger than 35 account for 60% of the Italian base.

Nicola Vicino, general manager of Revolut Bank UAB’s Italian branch, said the company aims to become Italy’s largest bank by customer count.

“Our ambition goes well beyond: we want Revolut to become the first bank in Italy,” Vicino said.

Revolut is prioritizing credit cards and mortgages in Italy. It has also introduced Italian IBANs, F24 tax payments and SEDA integration, expanding the services available to local customers.

Italy passed 5 million Revolut customers earlier in 2026 and was the company’s fifth-largest market globally at the time. It also set a target of becoming one of Italy’s top three banks by early 2027. Italy is now Revolut’s fourth-largest market globally.

Revolut had 68.3 million retail customers worldwide in 2025.
