> Corporate holdings reached 1.64 million BTC as of Oct. 8, while Strategy and Strive accounted for more than the sector’s net increase.

Businesses added 193,000 Bitcoin (BTC) in 2026 as of Oct. 8, lifting corporate holdings to 1.64 million BTC and concentrating the year’s net accumulation among two companies.

The holdings represented 7.8% of Bitcoin’s supply. Business inflows reached $15.7 billion during the year, about two-thirds below the comparable point in 2025, showing that corporate demand has slowed even as holdings continued to grow.

Strategy and Strive added 197,000 BTC combined. Other Bitcoin treasury companies collectively increased their holdings by 8,000 BTC. Because the two companies’ purchases exceeded the sector’s 193,000 BTC net increase, other businesses collectively reduced their holdings or bought less Bitcoin than they sold.

Strategy held 848,000 BTC as of October 2026. The concentration of purchases reflects a narrower corporate accumulation trend than in earlier periods, with large additions coming from a small number of treasury companies.

Large miners sold 32,800 BTC in 2026, with much of the selling attributed to capital spending on artificial-intelligence infrastructure. Miners are expanding artificial-intelligence and high-performance-computing businesses while continuing to produce Bitcoin.

The number of public companies holding Bitcoin rose 10% from the previous year. More than 4,000 businesses use River Financial’s platform to buy and hold Bitcoin.

Businesses have accumulated about 19,000 BTC per month since 2020. If that pace continues, corporate holdings would increase by roughly 1 million BTC over five years.
