> Pivotal Research lifted its 12-month target from $220 after SpaceX agreed to acquire nationwide 800 MHz spectrum for Starlink Mobile.

Pivotal Research raised its 12-month SpaceX price target to $230 from $220 after the company agreed to acquire nationwide low-band spectrum for Starlink Mobile, expanding its planned U.S. wireless network.

SpaceX agreed Oct. 8 to acquire a portfolio of licenses from Grain Management covering up to 14 megahertz of paired spectrum in the 800 MHz band. The transaction requires approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The spectrum would give SpaceX direct control of additional wireless capacity alongside Starlink’s Gen2 satellite constellation. SpaceX plans to use the combination of satellite and terrestrial spectrum as it seeks to establish Starlink Mobile as a major U.S. mobile carrier.

Pivotal Research analyst Jeffrey Wlodarczak maintained a Buy rating while increasing the 12-month target. He estimates Starlink Mobile could reach 160 million subscribers worldwide by 2036.

“The company appears to have created a legitimate new low-cost carrier aimed at the rural and suburban customer initially, bundled with the dish already on the roof,” Wlodarczak said.

SpaceX shares stood at $164.30 on Oct. 12, implying about 40% upside to the $230 target. The target is an analyst estimate rather than a company forecast.

Shares of AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile closed down 9.8%, 8.8% and 13.3%, respectively, on Oct. 9, the first trading session after the spectrum announcement.

Starlink already provides satellite connectivity and has pursued direct-to-device service through partnerships with mobile carriers. The new spectrum holdings could add terrestrial mobile capacity to that satellite network, with low-band frequencies that are designed to improve signal penetration through buildings.

The transaction follows [SpaceX’s 800 MHz spectrum agreement](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/28632>), which described the planned combination of satellite-to-cell service and terrestrial networks. The next step is FCC review of the spectrum acquisition.
