> The pre-seed round supports a platform for campaign planning, journalist research, pitching and coverage tracking, alongside an Early Access waitlist.

Honeyjar has raised $2 million in pre-seed funding to develop an AI workspace for public-relations and communications teams, while opening an Early Access waitlist for prospective users.

The financing was announced Dec. 4, 2025, at 3:04 p.m. ET (20:04 UTC). Heather Hartnett, CEO and general partner at Human Ventures, and Kevin Mahaffey, founder of SNR Ventures, led the round.

Founded by Michelle Masek and Nadia Jamshidi, Honeyjar is building a collaborative platform that brings campaign planning, messaging, journalist research, media-list development, speaking opportunities, pitching, events and coverage tracking into one workspace.

Its tools include journalist discovery, reporter tracking, inbound-message triage, coverage reports and campaign management. Users can review and approve posts, pitches and emails before they are sent or published.

The platform uses company context, priorities and campaign history to support communications work for professional communicators, founders, marketers and others responsible for an organization’s public presence.

“Strategy, relationships, and judgment will always be the human part of communications and PR — that's the art,” Masek, Honeyjar’s CEO and founder, said.

Masek said the company is developing a workspace in which AI agents work with teams to shape stories, identify opportunities, run campaigns and measure results.

“Technology shouldn't replace how you build relationships or do your job but it should give you better tools to excel at both,” Hartnett said.

The Early Access waitlist is available to agencies, in-house communications teams and independent professionals.
