OpenAI plans to create 200 additional jobs in Ireland, bringing its announced Irish hiring commitment to at least 450 roles as the company expands its European operations.

The broader hiring plan includes sales, engineering, user operations, human resources, finance, privacy, legal, corporate security and workplace functions. OpenAI currently employs more than 120 people in Ireland.

The expansion will include an Applied AI Lab at OpenAI’s Dublin headquarters. The company expects to move into the 88,000-square-foot Tropical Fruit Warehouse in late 2026.

The Dublin headquarters will support work with European users, customers and developers.

OpenAI established its Dublin office in 2023. Its initial responsibilities included operations, trust and safety, go-to-market work, security engineering and legal services.

The company has also described its Ireland program as supporting young developers, startups and small and medium-sized businesses. The expansion adds to OpenAI’s broader European presence and its work with European users, customers and developers.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said Ireland blends a talented workforce with support for innovation and responsible business growth. “We’re excited for this partnership as we expand in Europe.”

The company’s next stated step is the planned move into the Dublin facility in late 2026.
