> The NFT marketplace will retire its website and stop new Blend loans on Nov. 12 while its smart contracts remain active on-chain.

Blur plans to shut its frontend on Nov. 12, a move that will end ordinary web access to the NFT marketplace while leaving its underlying smart contracts active on-chain.

The platform’s Blend lending protocol will stop matching new loans on the same date. Existing borrowers must repay before the deadline or risk default liquidation. Blur also plans to provide a separate tool for users to withdraw assets.

BLUR fell more than 16% in 24 hours and traded below 0.015 USDT after the announcement. The decline reflects the loss of the platform’s main user entry point even as the protocol and its fee-switch controls remain in place.

Users with the technical ability to interact directly with the contracts may still be able to trade through the protocol. For most users, however, the shutdown marks a significant reduction in access to Blur’s marketplace and lending services.

The frontend is scheduled to be discontinued on Nov. 12, when Blend will also stop originating new loans.
