Russia’s A7 settlement system plans to launch a USDT-based cross-border payments service on Oct. 13, offering trade participants a way to fund international invoices with cryptocurrency while receiving fiat through banks.

The service, A7 International, will charge a fixed 0.3% fee. It is aimed primarily at foreign-trade businesses, although individuals will also be allowed to use it.

Customers can pay an invoice denominated in a foreign currency with Tether’s USDT. The funds will then be delivered in the recipient’s requested currency through a standard SWIFT bank transfer, combining a stablecoin payment step with traditional international settlement rails.

A7 was created with participation from PJSC Bank PSB in 2024. The system says it is building payment infrastructure across more than 100 countries and serves 15,000 customers, processing about 2,000 transactions per day.

A7 also says it handled about 19% of cross-border trade settlements involving Russian companies in 2025. PJSC Bank PSB Chairman Petr Fradkov and A7 CEO Ilan Shor are scheduled to introduce A7 International on Oct. 13.
