> The backer expects initial pricing around $1.8 trillion and sees Anthropic’s market value topping SpaceX’s $2.1 trillion first-day close.

An early Anthropic investor expects the artificial intelligence company to price an initial public offering at about $1.8 trillion and reach a $2.3 trillion to $2.4 trillion market value once trading begins, a forecast above SpaceX’s $2.1 trillion first-day market capitalization.

The investor, an early backer who declined to be identified, framed the higher number as an estimate of Anthropic’s underlying value rather than a brief post-listing spike. The $1.8 trillion figure is the investor’s expected IPO price; the $2.3 trillion to $2.4 trillion range is his estimate for the company’s market value once shares change hands. Neither number is an announced offer price or a confirmed company valuation.

His case rests on Anthropic’s business focus. He invested because the company was less consumer-oriented than rivals and had built enterprise demand around Claude, its AI product. He views Anthropic as a leading developer of foundation models, general-purpose systems trained to support a wide range of tasks, and believes that standing will benefit its corporate business. Anthropic gets about 80% of its revenue from enterprise customers, while business customers account for around half of OpenAI’s sales. The investor described the two companies as strong competitors whose models trade places in capability, and said Anthropic seemed somewhat less chaotic.

The investor also expects Anthropic to reach profitability before SpaceX, but supplied no timeframe. He said lower prices may follow the rise of open models, while usage will keep expanding. His argument is that Anthropic can maintain substantial value even if it slows down because he expects demand for its products to continue growing. He acknowledged that a multitrillion-dollar valuation would require significant profit growth to justify, but said that did not dissuade him.

Anthropic’s forecast IPO valuation would mark a sharp step up from its [$965 billion post-money valuation in a $65 billion Series H financing](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/24402>) on May 28. Anthropic has filed a [confidential IPO registration statement](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/24402>), but a public offering date and final valuation remain unconfirmed. The investor’s figures are predictions, not company guidance or confirmed terms for a listing.
