> The concept follows an Oct. 7 strategy update with a midterm break-even target of 200,000 vehicles or fewer annually and a long-term 15% operating-margin goal.

Porsche unveiled its Mission S concept Thursday, previewing a planned super sports car platform above the 911 as the German automaker shifts toward higher-end products to improve profitability.

Mission S is a midengine concept and an early look at Porsche’s evolving design identity. The car has a sharper exterior than current models, with hood vents and a roof scoop. At the rear, its spoiler sweeps into the surrounding body panels. Porsche has not disclosed pricing or performance specifications for future models tied to the platform.

Concept cars can help automakers gauge customer interest, present possible technologies and signal future design directions. Mission S offers that kind of preview, with Porsche pointing to a platform it plans to position above the 911.

The unveiling follows Porsche’s Oct. 7 strategy update, which emphasizes high-end sports cars and luxury SUVs. The plan also prioritizes value over volume. It sets a midterm break-even point of 200,000 vehicles or fewer annually, alongside a separate long-term goal of a 15% group operating margin.

Porsche sold 279,449 vehicles in 2025, while its operating margin was 1.1%, down from 14.1% in 2024. Higher costs, U.S. tariffs and declining sales in China have pressured the company’s business.

Current U.S. 911 models start at roughly $135,500 for a Carrera and exceed $203,000 for a Carrera 4 GTS convertible. Those prices do not establish what a future model on the planned platform would cost. Porsche Chairman Michael Leiters said, “A Porsche must be recognisable as a Porsche at first glance.”
