> The dollar-repayable borrowing covered 5,790.4798 ZEC; a July contract schedules 9,000 mining machines for delivery in October and November 2026.

Fortitude Mining Holdings sold 5,790.4798 Zcash (ZEC) borrowed from its parent for about $8.3 million, as it pursues a 9,000-machine mining expansion with deliveries scheduled in two groups.

At the time of transfer, the ZEC was worth about $8.4 million. Under an amended credit facility with Digital Currency Group, ZEC-funded loans are denominated and repayable in U.S. dollars. Fortitude therefore does not have to repurchase the same number of coins to repay the borrowing.

A July contract covers 9,000 BITMAIN Antminer Z15 Pro machines at $3,499 each, for a total of about $31.5 million. Shipments were scheduled for October and November 2026, with 3,000 units in the first group and 6,000 in the second. At a typical rating of 840 KSol/s per machine, the order represents 7.56 GSol/s of potential Equihash hashrate; actual output may differ.

Fortitude had about 4.7 GSol/s of operating Equihash hashrate as of Oct. 5, with more than 60 megawatts of contracted power across seven sites.

The company also planned a separate $20 million draw in ZEC for the week of Oct. 5 to cover a refundable deposit tied to a nonbinding commitment to buy up to $100 million in BITMAIN’s next-generation Zcash mining equipment. A binding purchase would depend on final specifications and pricing. Shipments are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2027, following Fortitude’s [priority allocation for next-generation Zcash mining equipment](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/26979>).

“We believe there is a significant opportunity to invest in Zcash mining infrastructure today,” Fortitude CEO Jaime Leverton said.

Putting the machines into service would increase Fortitude’s capacity to vie for the block rewards set by Zcash’s protocol.
