Regions Financial Corporation’s third-quarter net income for common shareholders rose 11% from a year earlier to $611 million, while shares ended Oct. 16 up 0.5%. The quarter ended Sept. 30. Diluted earnings per share were $0.71, an increase of 16% from the year-earlier quarter. Adjusted earnings totaled $622 million, up 11%, and adjusted diluted EPS was $0.73. The adjusted earnings figure was $11 million above the amount for common shareholders. GAAP revenue reached $1.973 billion, a 3% increase from $1.916 billion in the third quarter of 2025. Adjusted revenue was $1.988 billion, up 2.4% from $1.941 billion a year earlier. Net income grew faster than either revenue measure. Net interest income rose 3.3% to $1.298 billion. Net interest margin was 3.68%, compared with 3.59% in the same quarter last year. Both figures were higher than their year-earlier levels. The provision for credit losses fell to $68 million from $105 million, a decline of $37 million. Annualized net charge-offs were 0.29% of average loans, down from 0.55% a year earlier, a drop of 0.26 percentage points. John Turner, Regions Financial’s chairman, president and CEO, said, “Strong credit quality, continued momentum in fee-based businesses, and economically vibrant markets throughout our footprint all contributed to our third quarter results.” Shares reached $28.16 during the Oct. 16 session before closing at $27.45 at 4 p.m. ET (20:00 UTC). That was 14 cents above the previous session’s $27.31 close, a gain of 0.51%. Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, Regions Financial operates Regions Bank, which serves customers across the South, Midwest and Texas.
