> Tazapay had payout rails in more than 100 markets as of July 31. Circle separately plans to enter about 40 emerging and developing markets.

Circle has agreed to acquire Singapore-based payments company Tazapay in a proposed $400 million stock transaction, adding cross-border payout infrastructure as the stablecoin issuer pursues expansion into new markets.

The companies signed the agreement Sept. 4 and announced it Sept. 8. The deal is expected to close in 2027, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals, including approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Consideration is Circle Class A common stock, adjusted for Tazapay debt, transaction expenses and cash.

As of July 31, Tazapay had more than $25 billion in annualized payment volume, over 60 banking and fintech partners, and payout rails in more than 100 markets. It has been a design partner for Circle Payments Network since 2025.

Separately, Circle CEO and Chairman Jeremy Allaire said Oct. 16 that the company plans to enter about 40 emerging and developing markets. He identified Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East as regions where individuals and businesses are showing rising demand for stablecoins and digital financial services.

The proposed acquisition remains subject to regulatory review and other closing conditions, with completion expected in 2027.
