> Second-quarter revenue rose to $14.2 billion as Uber outlined plans to serve as many as 15 autonomous-vehicle cities by year-end.

Uber shares closed at $70.35 Friday, down nearly 24% from a year earlier, even as the ride-hailing company reported second-quarter growth and detailed multiyear autonomous-vehicle plans.

The Oct. 16 close was recorded at 4 p.m. ET (20:00 UTC). Uber closed at $92.52 on Oct. 16, 2025. Over that span, the S&P 500 gained about 15.5% on a price basis, leaving a roughly 39.5-percentage-point gap between the two moves.

Uber’s second-quarter Gross Bookings rose 22% year over year on a constant-currency basis, while trips increased 18%. Revenue climbed 12% to $14.2 billion. Non-GAAP operating income grew 40% to $2.1 billion, and free cash flow reached $2.8 billion.

The company said autonomous-vehicle rides were available through its platform in seven cities, with a goal of reaching as many as 15 by the end of 2026. Partners had committed about 120,000 vehicles to the network over the coming years. Uber anticipates more than $10 billion in multiyear commitments for equity stakes, infrastructure and vehicle offtake agreements. The multiyear plans put capital commitments alongside the partner vehicle pledge as the company works to expand its autonomous offering.

For the third quarter, Uber projected Gross Bookings of $58.25 billion to $60.25 billion, which would represent 18% to 22% growth on a constant-currency basis. Its non-GAAP earnings-per-share outlook was $0.84 to $0.88.
