Strategy Inc raised its authorization for digital credit securities repurchases by $1 billion to $3 billion after spending $193.1 million on STRC shares and adding Bitcoin (BTC) to its treasury.

The company bought back 1,938,780 shares of STRC, its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock, between Oct. 12 and Oct. 18. It used its designated USD Cash for the repurchases. As of Oct. 18, $1.16 billion remained available under the expanded program, which covers other preferred securities alongside STRC.

During the same period, Strategy purchased 267 BTC for $22.1 million at an average of $82,900 per coin, including fees and expenses. Sales of 140,872 MSTR common shares provided $22 million for the Bitcoin purchase. The company paid the remaining $0.1 million from USD Cash.

The purchase brought Strategy's holdings to 848,517 BTC as of Oct. 18. It had spent $64.02 billion to acquire that total, an average of $75,446 per BTC.
