> The project team was announced in September, and its first monthly call is scheduled for Nov. 3 at noon ET (17:00 UTC).

Nacha and the Digital Sovereignty Alliance held a Chicago session on stablecoins and tokenized deposits during the Payments Innovation Alliance’s fall meeting, examining their use in moving money.

The session took place Oct. 16, during the meeting’s Oct. 14-16 run. It was scheduled from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. ET (14:15 to 15:15 UTC). Nacha and DSA jointly lead the Next-Gen Currency Project Team, which was the focus of the session.

Nacha announced the team Sept. 9, before the Chicago meeting. Its work includes studying how digital assets are used in payments, tracking regulatory developments and preparing tools and educational materials for the payments industry. The project also aims to help firms assess how digital assets relate to traditional payment systems. The group is still being formed.

DSA Senior Policy Advisor Molly Woodman said, “It’s been encouraging to watch financial institutions brainstorm together on how to build some continuity in areas where regulation hasn’t caught up yet.”

Nacha governs the U.S. ACH Network, which processed 35.19 billion payments worth $93.00 trillion in 2025. The project’s focus on digital assets and payment systems connects its research to an established network for moving money.

The team’s first monthly call is scheduled for Nov. 3 at noon ET (17:00 UTC).
