> The companies will focus on FedRAMP and IL5 deployments; Palantir shares briefly rose more than 5% intraday.

Palantir Technologies shares finished 4.36% higher on Oct. 19 after the company and Knox Systems announced a partnership to help software providers deploy products for U.S. government and defense customers in federal cloud environments.

PLTR closed at $194.15 at 4 p.m. ET (20:00 UTC), up $8.12 from its previous close of $186.03. During the session, shares touched $196.99, briefly pushing gains above 5%.

The partnership targets deployments for customers using the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) and Impact Level 5 (IL5) environments. Knox’s existing FedRAMP authorization path takes 90 days or less and supports more than 100 AI and enterprise software applications in federal environments. That timeline describes Knox's existing authorization process; the partnership announcement did not set a deployment schedule.

FedRAMP evaluates cloud services for government use, while IL5 covers certain controlled unclassified defense information requiring greater protection than IL4. The companies disclosed no financial terms, revenue target or named agency purchase.
