> Among scaled users, 55% were certain the value justified the effort, compared with 13% of businesses running pilots.

Among surveyed U.S. businesses, 90% of those using stablecoins at meaningful volume said the value justified the work of implementing them, compared with 73% of pilot users, revealing a gap in payoff confidence.

The difference was wider among respondents who were certain. In the meaningful-scale group, 55% said the effort was definitely worthwhile and 35% said probably. Among pilot users, 13% chose definitely and 60% chose probably.

Payoneer released the findings Oct. 19 from a survey conducted in Sept. 2026. The 265 participants led payments, treasury or finance functions at U.S. companies with annual revenue of at least $100 million. Every participant had used, tested, evaluated or previously explored stablecoins. The findings therefore describe businesses with prior exposure to the technology, rather than U.S. businesses as a whole.

Meaningful scale meant operational use at significant volume in at least one use case; no dollar threshold was set. Across the full group, 41% reported use at that level, 28% reported limited live use and 11% reported pilots. The [earlier look at overall stablecoin use](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/35041>) covered the survey’s broader adoption figures.

Among businesses using or piloting stablecoins, half cited faster settlement; 41% pointed to better market and currency access, and 40% cited an improved experience for recipients. Those figures reflect participants’ assessments, rather than measured changes in payment performance.

Conversion expense is a separate practical consideration. A business may incur costs when it converts money into stablecoins and again when a recipient exchanges them for local currency. Payoneer Vice President of Global Banking Network and Infrastructure Bas van der Schaaf said using stablecoins only to move funds across markets “can actually be quite expensive.”

Other challenges were regulatory permission and compliance; reconciliation, reporting and controls; and integration with existing systems, each cited by 34% of respondents. Local conversion and delivery was cited by 29%.

The higher payoff ratings among scaled users do not establish that increasing stablecoin volume makes a business more satisfied with the results. Businesses that saw value early may have been more inclined to expand. Comparisons between adoption stages may also involve smaller groups than the full 265-person sample.
