> The research beta supports bimanual robots with parallel grippers, with Dream-1 API access priced at $3 per hour.

Dream Labs raised $90 million in seed funding and opened public access to Dream-1, a robot-control model API that turns camera observations and text instructions into movement commands for developers.

B Capital led the round along with Kindred Ventures. A.Capital, Unusual Ventures, SV Angel, Wing VC, Scribble VC and Adrian Aoun also participated. Dream-1, the model available through the API, is listed at $3 per hour.

The research beta currently supports bimanual, or two-arm, robots with parallel grippers. Dream-1 can make mistakes and has not been validated for safety-critical use. Future targets include wheeled mobile robots, mobile manipulators and dexterous hands.

For cross-robot control, Dream-1 can predict target gripper poses, which a robot’s inverse-kinematics solver translates into joint commands. The model can also output joint angles directly for robots it supports natively. Performance varies by robot and partly depends on the quality of its solver.

Dream Labs works with more than 20 hardware partners. The supported robots cost about $2,000 to $10,000. The company plans to direct most of the funding toward computing capacity and broader model support.

Industrial robots operating in factories worldwide reached a record 5 million in 2025, up 9% from 2024. That count covers industrial robots broadly, while Dream-1’s current scope is narrower. “What it needs now is intelligence,” said Daisy Cai, a general partner at B Capital.
