> tastytrade began offering Kalshi contracts through Apex Fintech Solutions on July 27. Firms trading on or joining Kalshi manage more than $1 trillion in combined assets.

Kalshi is courting brokers with access to its event-contract order book, seeking to bring brokerage customers into the same market as its direct and institutional traders.

Kalshi Head of Institutional Andy Ross framed liquidity as the reason for brokers to connect. “You want to go to the place that’s got all the liquidity,” Ross said. Each connection can bring another group of traders to an order book shared across those channels.

Ross put the combined assets under management of firms trading on Kalshi or preparing to join at more than $1 trillion. That figure measures assets managed across the firms’ businesses, rather than money held or traded on Kalshi.

The shared order book is central to the broker pitch. Customers placing orders through different brokerage platforms can trade in the same Kalshi market, alongside people using the exchange directly. More brokerage connections could add orders available to traders opening or closing event-contract positions.

Brokers can already offer Kalshi event contracts within their own platforms through an API from Apex Fintech Solutions. Brokers retain their customer relationships, while Apex handles account management, custody and money movement. Kalshi operates the exchange, and its clearinghouse clears the contracts with Apex serving as a clearing member.

tastytrade began offering the contracts through Apex on July 27, becoming the first firm live on the connection. Apex announced the API integration on Aug. 13. The arrangement gives brokers an existing route to event contracts, which let customers trade on the outcomes of events.

The arrangement gives firms a way to offer event contracts without building their own venue.

Separately, Kalshi introduced its US500PERP equity index future Oct. 6 after CFTC approval Oct. 3. The contract tracks the MerQube US Large Cap Index, which comprises 500 U.S. companies, and has no fixed expiration. Ross said Kalshi is looking to add foreign-exchange perpetual futures. The Apex broker connection currently described covers event contracts.
