> Both carriers recorded postpaid phone net additions in the second quarter, but only AT&T increased total revenue.

AT&T and Verizon will report third-quarter earnings on Oct. 21 and Oct. 26, respectively, putting their recent phone subscription gains and different revenue trends in focus for U.S. investors.

Third-quarter estimates put AT&T’s revenue at $31.65 billion and normalized earnings at $0.60 per share. The estimates for Verizon are $34.85 billion in revenue and $1.27 in normalized earnings per share. These are estimates, not company guidance or reported results.

Both revenue estimates exceed the carriers’ year-earlier totals. AT&T reported $30.7 billion in revenue for the third quarter of 2025, while Verizon reported $33.8 billion.

AT&T’s second-quarter revenue rose 2.3% from a year earlier to $31.6 billion. Its Advanced Connectivity service revenue increased 5.1% to $23.5 billion, and adjusted earnings rose to $0.65 per share from $0.54.

The carrier recorded 432,000 postpaid phone net additions. It also recorded 646,000 consumer and business internet connections. Its fiber revenue included the impact of the Lumen mass-markets fiber acquisition.

AT&T projects adjusted earnings of $2.25 to $2.35 per share for 2026 and Advanced Connectivity service revenue growth of more than 5%. Those targets give investors another measure against which to assess the upcoming results.

Verizon recorded 184,000 postpaid phone net additions in the second quarter. Mobility and broadband service revenue grew 2.8% to about $23.4 billion, but total operating revenue fell 0.7% to $34.3 billion as equipment revenue declined nearly 20%, or more than $1.2 billion.

For 2026, Verizon projects adjusted earnings of $4.99 to $5.04 per share and mobility and broadband service revenue growth of 2.5% to 3.0%. It expects that service revenue measure to grow about 3.0% in the third quarter and about 4.0% in the fourth.

AT&T is scheduled to release results before U.S. markets open Wednesday, Oct. 21, and hold an earnings call at 8:30 a.m. ET (12:30 UTC). Verizon plans to publish its results at 7 a.m. ET (11:00 UTC) Monday, Oct. 26, ahead of an 8:30 a.m. ET (12:30 UTC) webcast.
