# Abbott Sets $1.38 to $1.46 Range for Adjusted Third-Quarter EPS

Abbott Laboratories will report third-quarter earnings before U.S. markets open Wednesday, Oct. 21, giving investors a direct comparison with its guidance of $1.38 to $1.46 in adjusted diluted earnings per share.

Abbott earned $1.30 per share on an adjusted diluted basis in the third quarter a year earlier, alongside $11.37 billion in sales. Its diluted earnings under generally accepted accounting principles were $0.94 per share for that period. The adjusted figure provides the comparable measure for the current guidance range.

The lower end of that range is $0.08 above the year-earlier adjusted result, while the upper end is $0.16 higher.

In the second quarter, Abbott recorded adjusted diluted earnings of $1.31 per share and sales of $12.59 billion. Those are its most recent quarterly results ahead of the third-quarter release.

Abbott will hold its earnings call at 9 a.m. ET (13:00 UTC) Wednesday.
