SpaceX reported a 161% increase in third-quarter revenue to $14.575 billion on Oct. 20, hours after a Falcon 9 launched a Starfall capsule on the program’s second demonstration flight.

Revenue rose from $5.576 billion in the year-earlier quarter. Net income reached $4.404 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with a $1.054 billion loss a year earlier.

Super Intelligence was SpaceX’s largest revenue segment in the third quarter at $7.560 billion. Connectivity generated $5.248 billion, and Space brought in $1.767 billion.

Earlier on Oct. 20, the Falcon 9 lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 7:04 a.m. ET (11:04 UTC) on the Bandwagon-5 rideshare mission. It carried a Starfall capsule and 31 customer payloads.

Starfall made its first demonstration flight in June. The vehicle is designed to support scientific research and in-space manufacturing.
