# Idealab.ai Launches Free Catalog of More Than 1.2 Million Business Ideas

Idealab.ai opened a free catalog of more than 1.2 million AI-generated business ideas Oct. 19, giving prospective founders a way to explore concepts while it develops tools to help build and run companies.

Visitors can search and filter the ideas, read briefs and use a feature called Labs to develop a concept further. The ideas are free to explore and use. People decide which ones to pursue.

The platform drew on more than 17 million sources to generate its ideas. It applies 31 methods developed by Idealab.ai founder and executive chairman Bill Gross to identify business opportunities, drawing on problems, possible solutions and changes that may open a market.

“AI now gives us the ability to extend that process to millions more ideas and potential entrepreneurs,” Gross said.

Idealab.ai aims to support the creation of 1 million companies and 100 million jobs over time. Those figures are goals, and the company has set no deadline for reaching them. Its planned tools are intended to help people build and operate the businesses they choose to pursue.

The planned Periodic Table of Business Functions charts 118 functions involved in building and running a company. Idealab.ai plans to launch its first five elements soon and increase their functionality through 2027. The company has not given a date for the first release.

Gross has spent 30 years building companies through Idealab and Idealab Studio, which have launched more than 175 companies. For now, Idealab.ai’s searchable idea catalog and Labs feature are available; its business-function tools remain in development.
