> The Oct. 20 commercial partnership targets NATO and allied forces. Helsing’s investment amount and Destinus’ valuation were not disclosed.

Helsing plans to participate in Destinus’ latest funding round as the two European defense companies combine their technology and manufacturing capacity to offer joint solutions to NATO and allied armed forces.

The commercial partnership was announced Oct. 20. Helsing will join other investors in the round, but the companies disclosed no investment amount, stake size, Destinus valuation or closing date. The agreement is between Helsing and Destinus; NATO and allied forces are the intended recipients of their joint offerings.

Helsing raised $1.8 billion in a Series E round on July 13 at an $18 billion valuation. That figure applies to Helsing’s funding round, while the terms of Destinus’ latest round have not been announced.

Destinus also has a U.S. defense connection. As of Sept. 30, a proposal from Destinus and Aeon had advanced to the final 10 in one category of a U.S. Army interceptor competition. Reaching the finals did not constitute a procurement award.
