> The company estimates revenue of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion, up from its earlier range of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion.

Super Micro Computer, Inc. shares rose after the company raised its preliminary fiscal first-quarter sales estimate well above prior guidance, reflecting stronger demand for the artificial intelligence platforms it supplies.

The company now expects revenue of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with its earlier forecast of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion.

Super Micro also raised its estimated gross margin to 12.0% to 12.5%, from its previous range of 10.4% to 10.8%. The higher margin estimate accompanies the stronger sales outlook.

Both estimates are preliminary and unaudited, and the final figures may change. The company attributed the increase in projected revenue primarily to demand for AI platforms.

In August, Super Micro projected fiscal 2027 revenue of $65 billion to $72 billion and disclosed a record backlog. Those figures predated the quarterly update.

The company is scheduled to hold its fiscal first-quarter results call Nov. 3 at 5 p.m. ET (22:00 UTC).
