> Founders Fund examined charges for apartment rent and private jet flights. An early investor disputes the suggestion that outside investors uncovered concealed spending.

Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan reimbursed the prediction market after charges for apartment rent, private jet flights and other expenses drew scrutiny during Founders Fund’s 2025 investment review.

Polymarket had not generated revenue when the charges were incurred. Founders Fund wanted tighter financial controls before investing, and Coplan repaid the company. Coplan founded Polymarket in 2020.

Polymarket said the flights were business travel and that Coplan had disclosed the expenses to investors. Dragonfly Managing Partner Haseeb Qureshi, an early investor, rejected the suggestion that outside investors uncovered concealed spending. Qureshi said Coplan initiated the accounting and repayment process and reimbursed the company in full. “It was an accounting problem, not an integrity problem,” he said.

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which owns the New York Stock Exchange, invested $1 billion in Polymarket in October 2025 and completed another $600 million investment on March 27, 2026. ICE also agreed to distribute Polymarket’s event data to institutional customers.
