> The commitment requires shareholder approval. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk separately plans to give one company share to every U.S. child in 2027.

Anthropic proposed committing 5% of its shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund on Oct. 18, subject to shareholder approval, establishing a potential source of nonprofit grants and direct distributions.

Anthropic’s board may contribute another 2% of company shares for every 50% increase in its value above a set baseline. Including earlier pledges by its founders and an employee equity donation match program, the company estimates that roughly 20% of its shares would be dedicated to public benefit. That estimate includes commitments beyond the proposed fund stake.

The fund may make grants to nonprofits or explore direct distributions to specific populations. Anthropic plans to provide more details about how the fund will be governed in the coming months.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk made a separate [pledge to give one SpaceX share to every U.S. child](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/34670>) on Oct. 19, after urging direct share distribution in response to Anthropic’s announcement. He said he plans to make the gift in 2027 but did not specify eligibility rules, a delivery date or how children would receive the shares.

If all 72 million U.S. residents under 18 received a share, the gift would be worth about $10.7 billion at an Oct. 19 price of $147.96 per share. That is a hypothetical calculation, since Musk has not defined who would qualify. Treasury rules permit qualifying stock donations to groups of children by eligible government or nonprofit donors, subject to approval, but Musk did not name Trump Accounts as his delivery route.

World, a digital identity and cryptocurrency project co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has distributed Worldcoin (WLD) tokens to eligible users verified as unique people. The project has presented its network as a possible path to universal basic income funded by AI. Its token grants differ from the company-share commitments proposed by Anthropic and Musk.

World stopped opening new WLD airdrop cycles June 1. Only eligible users who enrolled before June 1, 2026, and claimed an initial airdrop can continue collecting their remaining monthly allocations until their cycles end.
