> The Everett casino posted $46.1 million in September slot and table revenue. Massachusetts collected $11.5 million in related taxes, down from $14.8 million a year earlier.

Encore Boston Harbor’s September slot and table gaming revenue fell 22.1% from a year earlier while workers remained on strike, reducing Massachusetts’ tax receipts from the casino’s gaming operations.

The Everett casino recorded $46.1 million in gross gaming revenue, down $13.1 million from $59.1 million in September 2025. Slots generated $26.9 million of the latest total, and table games generated $19.1 million. The figures exclude revenue from the resort’s hotel, restaurants and other operations.

The amount wagered on Encore’s slot machines was $354.4 million in September, compared with $444.4 million a year earlier. That measure, known as slot coin-in, is distinct from the casino’s gaming revenue.

Massachusetts collected $11.5 million in taxes on Encore’s September gaming revenue, down from $14.8 million a year earlier. The state taxes the gaming revenue of resort casinos at 25%.

Results at the state’s other casinos were mixed. MGM Springfield’s September gaming revenue fell 1.2% from a year earlier to $22.0 million, while Plainridge Park Casino’s rose 2.4% to $14.6 million. Plainridge Park’s figure covers slots only; the Encore and MGM Springfield totals include slots and table games.

Encore is operated by Wynn Resorts. A labor agreement covering about 1,350 employees expired Aug. 31, and workers represented by UNITE HERE Local 26 and Teamsters Local 25 began striking Sept. 4. Workers want wages comparable to those at downtown Boston hotels, continued health coverage and benefits, and job security.

The walkout reached its 48th day on Oct. 21. Its timing overlaps with the revenue decline, but the gaming figures do not establish how much of the decrease the strike caused.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission meets Oct. 22 beginning at 10 a.m. ET (14:00 UTC). Its agenda includes an update on the impact of Encore Boston Harbor labor discussions.
