> The transactions were part of a 10-year, $1.5 trillion initiative spanning financing, facilitated activity and investments. The bank’s Strategic Investment Group committed $5 billion from a $10 billion equity allocation.

JPMorgan Chase financed and facilitated more than $230 billion in transactions during the first year of its Security and Resiliency Initiative, a 10-year program focused on industries tied to economic and national security. The activity covered roughly 380 transactions.

The initiative targets $1.5 trillion in financing, facilitated activity and investments over a decade. At launch on Oct. 13, 2025, JPMorgan Chase had an existing plan to finance and facilitate about $1 trillion over that period; the initiative could increase that amount by as much as $500 billion.

The initial allocation for direct equity and venture capital investments was $10 billion. The bank’s Strategic Investment Group has committed $5 billion in equity investments from that allocation. In October 2025, JPMorgan Chase agreed to invest $75 million for a 2.7% equity stake in Perpetua Resources, the initiative’s first investment.

Its priorities span strategic technologies, energy independence and resilience, pharma and health technology, defense and aerospace, and advanced manufacturing and supply chains. Nearly one-third of first-year activity occurred outside the United States as the initiative expanded into Europe and Canada.

JPMorgan Chase Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon has warned that companies’ overreliance on China as a supply-chain link can create vulnerabilities. Separately, he has argued that the United States should not rely on potential adversaries for materials essential to national security. Dimon has also said the West underestimated China’s economic strength, describing its focus on economic issues as happening “all while we slept.”

“Strong economies and national security don’t happen by accident,” Dimon said.

In the initiative’s second year, JPMorgan Chase plans to help companies expand critical capacity and develop financing structures for strategic projects. The bank also plans to strengthen supplier and workforce networks and coordinate policy across borders.
