> Elon Musk said the committees had not agreed on transaction terms, and no merger has been finalized.

Tesla and SpaceX have formed independent-director committees to examine a possible merger, a review that could bring 30,221 Bitcoin (BTC) under one corporate group if a deal proceeds.

Elon Musk said on SpaceX’s Oct. 20 earnings call that shareholders requested the committees. He said he could not participate in their discussions because he was a conflicted party, and that the committees had not agreed on transaction terms. No merger has been finalized.

The latest filings that list Bitcoin unit counts show 18,712 BTC at SpaceX and 11,509 BTC at Tesla, each as of June 30. Added together, the figures equal 30,221 BTC. The companies disclosed their balances separately and did not report the sum as a combined holding.

Their third-quarter updates later listed $1.573 billion in digital assets for SpaceX and $962 million for Tesla as of Sept. 30, but did not state updated Bitcoin unit totals. No transaction timetable has been announced.
