> Third-quarter adjusted EPS rose 9.7% to $1.24. A separate projection for the proposed Dominion Energy combination calls for at least 9% annual adjusted EPS growth through 2032.

NextEra Energy is aiming for the high end of its 2026 adjusted earnings per share forecast after a 9.7% quarterly increase, while its proposed Dominion Energy combination remains under regulatory review.

On Oct. 21, the company maintained its full-year adjusted EPS range of $3.92 to $4.02. Third-quarter adjusted EPS reached $1.24, up from $1.13 in the same period of 2025. Aiming for the high end does not change the published range.

Adjusted earnings totaled $2.592 billion for the quarter, compared with $2.348 billion a year earlier. The 9.7% increase describes the per-share result, the measure used for the company’s full-year guidance and longer-term growth targets.

NextEra uses 2025 adjusted EPS of $3.71 as the base for its longer-term outlook. For the company as it stands, it expects compound annual adjusted EPS growth of at least 8% through 2032 and targets the same annual rate from 2032 through 2035. Those goals concern earnings per share rather than total adjusted earnings.

The proposed Dominion Energy combination has a separate outlook. NextEra projects at least 9% annual adjusted EPS growth through 2032 for the combined company, using 2025 as the base, and targets the same rate from 2032 through 2035. The combined-company projection applies to a transaction that has not yet closed.

In an earlier update, NextEra Energy Resources had a [project backlog of approximately 35.1 GW](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/24425>) as of July 24, following second-quarter additions of 3.6 GW in renewable energy and storage. The backlog measures projects in the pipeline, not generating capacity already in service. NextEra has also set a target of 15 GW of new generation for large-load customers by 2035.

Adjusted EPS is a non-GAAP measure, presented separately from earnings calculated under generally accepted accounting principles. NextEra has not provided a numerical reconciliation of its forward adjusted EPS outlook to GAAP EPS because some inputs cannot be quantified without unreasonable effort.

Shareholders of NextEra and Dominion approved the proposed deal Sept. 3. State and federal regulatory reviews are continuing, and the companies expect the combination to close in the second half of 2027.
