> The Sept. 28 round names Sequoia Capital, Benchmark Capital and Coatue as investors; Instinct’s personal assistant remains in early access.

Instinct's Sept. 28 announcement put the $1 billion Series C at a $10 billion company valuation, four times August's $2.5 billion mark for the San Francisco startup.

The San Francisco-based company named Sequoia Capital, Benchmark Capital and Coatue as investors. Its August Series B raised $250 million at a $2.5 billion valuation and brought total funding to $350 million. The Series C amount is four times the size of that earlier round.

Instinct is an early-access personal assistant users can reach by text or phone. Its phone and computer let it take on tasks such as arranging trips, placing grocery orders and ending subscriptions.

Newer features include call concierge support and a Trusted Person Network, which enables Instinct assistants to coordinate. The product remains in early access.

Founder Noah Shinn said, “This funding helps us bring Instinct to more people and continue building the future of personal AI.”
