Meta’s future spending commitments have reached $825 billion, bringing the scale of its long-term AI infrastructure buildout into focus as the company expands data center and computing capacity.

Most of the total comes from irrevocable contract commitments and long-term lease obligations; the leases have not yet begun. The commitments cover AI data centers, third-party cloud computing, servers and network infrastructure, tying the headline figure to a broad range of infrastructure spending.

The company’s latest earnings update raised the lower end of its full-year spending outlook, while its capital spending guidance reaches as high as $145 billion. Meta also announced plans to create nonvoting Class C shares to give it more financing flexibility for continued AI investment.

Meta’s second-quarter free cash flow was $784 million, placing its current cash generation alongside the much larger figure for future commitments. The obligations sit across future contract and lease periods, while the capital spending figure covers the current-year outlook.
