> A 2026 global survey found that 71% of corporate respondents expected moderate integration work or major system changes.

The share of corporate respondents with stablecoin payments in production reached 18% in a 2026 global survey, twice the 9% share in the 2025 survey, as integration needs remain a hurdle.

Conducted in July and August, the survey included 521 senior decision-makers: 383 from companies and 138 from financial institutions. Fifty-three percent of respondents were based primarily in the United States. The surveys do not establish whether the same companies took part in both years.

Among corporate respondents, 15% said their organizations used tokenized deposits, while 21% reported using stablecoins, tokenized deposits or both. The figures describe survey participants, not all businesses.

Financial institutions are also offering or considering more services. The share of financial institutions already providing stablecoin services or expecting to introduce them within two years was 69%, versus 30% in the 2025 survey. Among banks, 49% already offered or planned to offer tokenized deposits over that period.

Cross-border payments featured among the use cases. Across stablecoins and tokenized deposits, 53% of respondents said their organizations had used or were exploring cross-border supplier payments. Half said the same about accepting business-to-business payments from across borders. Both figures include organizations exploring these options, not only those already using them.

Integration was a prominent concern for companies. Seventy-six percent of corporate respondents viewed connections to enterprise resource planning, treasury management and banking platforms as very important or critical. Seventy-four percent wanted the services built into their existing interfaces, while 14% preferred a separate digital-asset interface. Only 5% said the systems were already integrated, and 71% expected moderate integration work or major system changes.

Existing providers could be a route to adoption: 63% of corporate respondents said they were likely to adopt blockchain-payment capabilities from their current bank or payments provider.

The global survey does not establish a U.S. business adoption rate. In a separate survey conducted Sept. 18-25, 2025, one of 148 firms in the Fourth Federal Reserve District reported current stablecoin use; seven firms that were not users planned future use. The surveys covered different regions and periods, so their results are not directly comparable.
