> The bank also expects modest expansion in its FTE net interest margin. Its outlook assumes one additional 25-basis-point rate hike in early December.

Horizon Bancorp, Inc. set fourth-quarter 2026 non-FTE net interest income guidance at $66 million to $67 million, while forecasting modest margin expansion under a further rate-hike assumption.

The outlook assumes one additional 25-basis-point rate increase in early December. That is a management assumption, not a confirmed Federal Reserve decision. Horizon gave no numerical target for fourth-quarter net interest margin expansion.

For the quarter ended Sept. 30, Horizon recorded $65.159 million in GAAP net interest income, compared with $63.490 million for the quarter ended June 30. Its fully taxable equivalent (FTE) net interest margin was 4.37% in both quarters. The fourth-quarter income range uses a non-FTE measure, while the margin outlook uses FTE.

FTE net interest income was $66.221 million, versus $65.159 million on a GAAP basis. Third-quarter net income was $28.667 million, or 56 cents per diluted share.

Deposit costs increased from the second quarter. Total deposit costs, including noninterest-bearing balances, rose three basis points, while costs on interest-bearing deposits climbed four basis points.

Horizon Bancorp is a $6.6 billion-asset commercial bank holding company and the parent of Horizon Bank, which serves customers through branches in Indiana and Michigan.
