> Goldman Sachs modeled $23 billion in borrowing for existing orders, but the estimates use different assumptions. CoreWeave’s $104 billion backlog represents future revenue, not cash already collected.

Bernstein estimates CoreWeave needs about $85 billion to finance committed customer contracts, leaving a roughly $76 billion gap after facilities; Goldman Sachs modeled a separate $23 billion borrowing need for existing orders.

The $76 billion estimate is about 3.3 times the $23 billion figure by amount, but the scenarios use different assumptions and are not like-for-like measures. Bernstein’s estimate subtracts about $9 billion in financing facilities from its $85 billion funding need. Goldman’s $23 billion scenario includes customer prepayments. Goldman also modeled about $38 billion in new debt to expand capacity to 4.2 gigawatts.

The company supplies computing infrastructure to customers developing and running AI systems. Its revenue backlog stood at about $104 billion on June 30, 2026, excluding more than $25 billion in customer commitments added early in the third quarter. The backlog represents revenue expected from committed contracts, subject to delivery and service availability. It is not cash the company has already collected.

For the second quarter of 2026, CoreWeave recorded $2.575 billion in revenue and a $626 million net loss. Net interest expense was $640 million. Its June 30 filing listed $35.551 billion in future principal payments on debt, along with $5.524 billion in cash and $15 million in marketable securities.

CoreWeave’s filing states, “We anticipate future investments may require significant debt and/or equity financing.” It also warns that additional share sales would dilute stockholders. The $76 billion figure is Bernstein’s estimate of a funding shortfall, not a CoreWeave announcement that it plans to raise that amount.

Questions about how the company will finance data-center growth have centered on [its $51.6 billion debt load](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/38639>).
